Tele-snaps from another dimension
Imagine a parallel world whose BBC made a science fiction series called Doctor Who. So far so what? Well, what if the Doctor (or Doctor Who, if you will) were played by Peter Cushing, and his companions by Roberta Tovey, Jennie Linden and Roy Castle? And this, a good two years before a big-screen outing for the character and his arch-enemies was considered on our world?
And let’s assume that this version of the BBC was also prone to destroying great swathes of its library in order to reuse videotapes for other programmes. And let’s also suppose the second story of this new Doctor Who series was among those junked.
In which case, what follows might just be a tele-snap reconstruction of that yarn’s first episode…
